I'm finalizing the budget for our team, and I was just wonder what other people put in their budgets. Of course, BEST registration and materials are free, so it's just a small amount for booth/presentation materials, the notebook and sheet protectors, and a small amount to replace something that is ruined. (Like plywood) I guess a small amount for snacks/spiritwear. Is there anything that you notice that I failed to mention? Thanks!!

You seem to be pretty on point, although you may want to consider breaking things down further, because depending on your team's preferences, some of the items you listed could drastically range in price. Here are the following things you may want to consider:

Booth- This can be anything from PVC with fabric draped over it to 80/20 with flat screen TVs and LED lights. You will want to think about how over the top you want to make your booth before allocating money towards it.

Transportation- Depending on where you are coming from and what your team/school rules are, you may be able to carpool with parents driving, or you may need to rent a bus.

Team outfits- I say outfits because these can range from t-shirts, to jean button down shirts, to plastic hazmat suits, to hand made Hawaiian pants. You will also want to consider what your presentation team will wear if it is something that they do not already own.

Spirit- Most teams will make some sort of "spirit sticks" to have in the stands to define their team area. These tend to be home made out of materials like PVC. Other spirit items could be colored hairspray or pompoms, but I consider these to be very much optional.

Booth freebie- Most teams will give out something in their booth, but it is up to you what you want to give. It could be business cards, stickers, keychains, or something more.

Food- You will want to think about food at kickoff and the competition, as well as any meals that may be needed during build season.

Presentation- Many teams opt to give the judges some sort of folder with information about their team as a way to remember them when they leave the judging room. What goes in the folder is at your discretion.

I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck!
